Artist's Description

Designed by the Cuban architect Eugenio Rayneri Piedra (en), its construction mobilized, from 1920 to 1929, thousands of workers, making it at the time the most important construction site in Cuba.

After having housed the Congress of Cuba until 1959, it then became the seat of the Academy of Sciences and the Ministry of Science, Technology and the Environment.

Conçu par l'architecte cubain Eugenio Rayneri Piedra (en), sa construction mobilise, de 1920 à 1929, des milliers d'ouvriers, ce qui en fait à l'époque le chantier le plus important de Cuba.

Après avoir abrité le Congrès de Cuba jusqu'en 1959, il devient ensuite le siège de l'Académie des sciences et du ministère de la Science, de la Technologie et de l'Environnement.
